What is Smoothbeam?
The Smoothbeam laser is a diode laser that is FDA cleared to treat active acne, scars, and wrinkles on all skin types. It has been used in medicine for the past 40 years and has helped revolutionize many common dermatological procedures. The laser bypasses the outer layer of skin to stimulate collagen production by heating the tissue underneath. Smoothbeam also has a built-in cooling system, so you won’t feel the heat and your skin won’t be damaged.
What can you expect during treatment?
Your practitioner will use a small hand piece to deliver the laser pulse to your skin. You will feel a probe touch your skin and deliver a small spray of coolant in conjunction with each laser pulse. The coolant protects the upper layer of the skin during each laser pulse.
